The oldest buildings at Ridge Farm are the timber framed farmhouse and barn: both date from the 17th century.  The farmhouse - originally a 2-bay hall house - was extended in the early Georgian period, and again in the mid 20th century.

Until about sixty years ago it was one of the biggest farms in the area, but after the second world war much of the land was sold off and the house became a private residence.

The Farm has been in its present ownership since 1972 and for most of that time it operated as a world-class residential recording studio, with clients from Ozzy Osbourne to The Three Tenors.  To find out more about this period in the history of the Farm, visit the studio archive site.

After the studio closed in early 2003 the house was used as a private residence for a short time, but it has now been carefully renovated to make it a prime venue for holidays, weddings, corporate events and much more.
